Perth Youth Ministry Training

I'm sitting in Perth reflecting on a great day of training of youth leaders with Ken Moser. Doing training days always gives me a great kick; equipping leaders really is the up there with the most important things I do.
This morning we looked at 2 Corinthians 3 & 4 (the great book on ministry) and encouraged the leaders to stick at Christ centred ministry rather than going back to a Christ injected ministry. Christ centred ministry builds on the foundation of the Lord Jesus (1 Cor 3) and builds the way the bible says a ministry should be built. The bible should impact our practice. The Christ injected youth ministry is an anything goes ministry so long as there is some kind of Christian stuff (normally a bible study and maybe prayer).
It was very encouraging to see the youth leaders here responding well to the training and teaching! I think it is a great relief to many on the front lines that there are those out there saying that the bible speaks about quality and not quantity in our ministries. It's a shame that there wasn't a bunch of senior ministers there because I think it is a message that many of them need to hear.
