Youthsurge's Plans for 2010

Youthsurge commits to new regional initiatives
Youthsurge will be casting its vision even wider in 2010 in its desire to carry out God's mission to youth.
In 2010 Youthsurge will run its first ever international event in Singapore as well as creating new initiatives in under-resourced centres such as Darwin and Tasmania.
"God has opened up exciting and strategic opportunities overseas and in less resourced parts of Australia and we praise him for this," says Youthsurge National Director Steve Jeffrey.
In 2010 Youthsurge will continue its commitment to equip the next generation of youth leaders by incorporating training seminars into Megasurge Conferences. This is in addition to Launch camps in North and South Queensland which train teenagers as future leaders.
However there will be some significant changes in the coming year.
"Due to the reduced staff resources next year and seeing first hand where the greatest needs are around Australia, we have prayerfully decided to place our energy in areas outside of Sydney," says Operations Manager David Lawrence.
Youthsurge will be directing its focus beyond Sydney in 2010 after ten years of Friday night Surges around the regions. This means that there will be no Surges in Sydney next year. Tailored training solutions will still be offered to local churches by request, continuing Youthsurge's emphasis on supporting local church youth ministry.
"We want to celebrate what God has achieved in the past decade through the ministry of Youthsurge in Sydney. We are very grateful for the partnership of churches, youth groups and supporters who have joined us in bringing the gospel to teenagers and equipping youth leaders," Rev Jeffrey says.
Youthsurge will continue creating new publications for youth ministry in 2010 including a book from youth ministry expert Ross Ciano containing practical advice about how to preach the Bible to young people and why it is so important.
