LAUNCH Goes Off

Youthsurge's first ever training camp - Launch - has just finished. 23 teenagers from churches across North Queensland gathered at Forrest Beach SLSC for 4 days of teaching, training, encouragement and fellowship. Launch is a leader in training camp targeting the next generation of leaders for local church ministry. As Youthsurge National Director put it, "Teenagers are at a stage in their life where they are making choices that will impact the rest of their lives and into eternity so we want to get them early and help them to see that a life lived in the service of the Lord Jesus is not a wasted life."
At Launch Steve Jeffrey spoke from Hebrews 10-13 in the main sessions, encouraging the delegates to live the pilgrims life of following Jesus in such a way that there a positive consequences in their life and the lives of others for all eternity. Delegates were encouraged to start preparing for a life of ministry by working on their godliness, commitment and character.
Youthsurge was blessed to have Donny Kwan as Launch Director, and a team from Donny's church Toongabbie Anglican. Toongabbie's support of Launch has been crucial in getting this vital camp off the ground.
Youthsurge's passion is to equip local churches to do effective youth ministry and therefore plans is to take Launch around Australia.
