Where does my $6 go?

On the most part when you turn up to a Surge entry is $6, so the question is what happens to it?

There are two responses; one positive and one negative. On the positive side the $6 that is collected at the door helps to pay the expenses associated with running each Surge and the rest goes to supporting other youth ministry events around Australia. It might be helpful to know that quite a number of our Surges and training days lose money so the well attended ones help Youthsurge to provide a biblical youth ministry model in widespread parts of Australia.

On the negative side the question is often posed in terms of what do I get for my $6? The driving influence of the question is consumeristic; is my $6 worth spending on this event? I want to encourage youth leaders to train the young people in their care and nurture to give generously and never think of Christianity, church or youth group (or Youthsurge) as a consumer product. Your $6 contributes to a gospel ministry attempting impact the church and change the world, it doesn't pay for 2 hours of entertainment.

Youthsurge has a board of management and is attached to a local church for accountability. As such, all it's finances are audited yearly and reported upon each month.
